Help the work take root

Native Cape starts with a love for this landscape and a willingness to get our hands dirty. Your support can turn that commitment into sustained work: clearing invasive plants, caring for recovering habitats and making room for indigenous life.

Whether you contribute money, equipment, expertise or time, you can help build something lasting here in Suurbraak.

Make a donation

A once-off gift helps us get started. Regular contributions help us plan ahead and return to the same sites for the follow-up work that restoration needs.

Your donation will help fund:

  • The people planning, coordinating and carrying out the work.
  • Tools, protective equipment and practical training.
  • Invasive clearing, follow-up maintenance and habitat monitoring.
  • Wildlife cameras and suitable nesting and roosting boxes.
  • Educational content and community activities.
  • Registration, administration and other essential project costs.

We’re currently establishing Native Cape, identifying suitable sites and working through the permissions needed to begin. Donations during this phase support that preparation as well as the practical work ahead.

Grow with us

Restoration takes time. A cleared patch needs attention as new seedlings emerge, and the return of indigenous vegetation can be gradual.

We’re preparing a Patreon page for people who would like to support Native Cape every month. Once it’s ready, we’ll share the details here.

Your ongoing support will help us stay with the work—and we’ll share the progress, discoveries and challenges along the way.

Put your skills or equipment to work

Practical help can make a real difference to a small organisation.

We’d love to hear from people who can offer conservation knowledge, plant identification, clearing experience, accounting, legal guidance, equipment maintenance or other useful skills.

Tools, protective equipment, wildlife cameras, materials and transport assistance may also help. Please contact us before buying or dropping off items so we can confirm what’s needed and suitable.

Volunteer with us

As sites and working arrangements are confirmed, we plan to create opportunities to help with clearing, monitoring, community activities and other project tasks.

Some activities will require training or particular skills. Let us know what you enjoy doing, what experience you bring and when you’re available, and we’ll get in touch when there’s a suitable opportunity.

Are you a local business or landowner?

Businesses: support Native Cape through a donation, useful supplies or professional services. With your permission, we’d be happy to acknowledge your contribution on our supporters page.

Landowners: if you have invasive plants on your property and would like to explore working with us, please get in touch. We’ll discuss the site, access, permissions and what may be feasible within our capacity.

Follow, share and invite others in

You can also help by watching our videos, sharing the project and introducing us to people who may want to get involved.

As our channels launch, we’ll add links here so you can follow the work from its earliest stages.

See what your support makes possible

We’ll share progress through videos, photographs and quarterly website updates, alongside clear financial summaries. During setup, that includes the planning and permissions; once fieldwork begins, it includes clearing, follow-up and what we observe as sites recover.

Thank you for helping us care for the place we call home.

Native Cape is being established as a nonprofit. We cannot currently issue Section 18A tax-deductible donation receipts but applications are in progress.
